Hi everyone!

I am doing this post a little later than what I hoped for but, I hope you had a great holiday season and a happy New Year. I wanted to talk with you all about something that is very important to me, skincare. Ever since I started college I struggled with acne (probably the worst timing ever). I tried many different types of face washes, medications, creams, pills, etc. over the past few years. It took a lot of trial and error, a whole lot of frustration to finally find out what worked best for my skin.

I wanted to share with you all what worked best for me, and a few tips I learned along the way of this "skin journey". This past year especially I have been extra cautious about the products I use on my face, and making sure I use SPF every day (super important to start in your 20's). Below I will list a few of my favorite products, and explain how they worked for me.

Obagi CLENZIderm M.D. Normal-to-Oily Kit: (aka: my Holy Grail). This kit has not only saved my skin once but twice. Freshmen year I was recommended by my facialist to start using the Obaji products, and though it took some time, my skin eventually was as clear as ever. Now be warned: these products are strong, so you probably want to see your doctor, dermatologist, or facialist before purchasing these products. The reason why Obaji worked so well for me is because I had deeply clogged pores. My facialist told me I have very small pores, which makes it even harder to de-clog those stubborn suckers.

PS: I found the best price for you all on, which is offering free shipping right now. (This kit usually runs well over $100).

EltaMD UV Facial Broad-Spectrum SPF 30+: I use this lotion in the morning after I washed my face with the Obaji kit. It is the perfect consistency for me and doesn't leave a cakey feeling on my face.

Kopari Coconut Sheer Oil: It's true, I have formed a love affair with coconut oil. I use these droplets when I want a nice dewy skin glow, or just need extra moisture. I also use them on my eyebrows to help keep them down before I fill them in. My secret beauty tip for coconut oil to get a natural glow: add a few droplets on the bridge of your nose and upper cheekbones, then apply your highlighter. Coconut oil also has many health benefits. I like to rub the oil on my neck at night time (supposedly it helps to prevent thyroid cancer when it soaks into your skin).

Beauty Counter No. 3 Balancing Facial Mask: This is hands down my favorite face mask. If you want to help clear your pores, or just have a nice face mask to put on for a relaxing night, this is the product for it. My favorite part about Beauty Counter is there mission: all natural products. I have learned this year it is so important to be careful about what you put it and on your body. Summer Fridays Jetlag Mask: I have been obsessing over this mask. I tend to have dry skin during the winter, so this is a life-saver for me. It has a medium consistency but works as well as a thick moisturizing cream.

Hum Nutrition Daily Cleanse Vitamins: These vitamins have also saved my skin. For the Daily Cleanse vitamins, you have to take them consistently over a 25 day period to see a change in your skin, but I promise you the results are worth it. I am a huge fan of the Hum Nutrition line, and they have so many other great products that I highly suggest you all check out.

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil: I have tried all hair oils, and this one tops them all. All natural ingredients, and also smells amazing. The story of Gisou is also really interesting, so I suggest you check out their website to learn more about this company. (PS: Negin Mirsalehi is the CEO of Gisou and she is my favorite blogger out there)

Keune Society Hair Spray: I have been using this hair spray for years now. What I love most about this spray is it doesn't leave a gross, crunchy feeling in your hair after you use it. It is top quality so a little goes a long way.

Keune Volume Powder: I have been using this volume powder since high school and it works like magic. The best part is you don't have to hassle with using a teasing comb and hairspray.
